The American Legion’s Boys State program offers a distinctive opportunity for young men to understand the American system of government and politics by engaging in a mock governmental system.

Throughout Palmetto Boys State, citizens are separated into two mock government parties: the Nationalists and the Federalists. These parties are meant to simulate the real divide present in politics and its effect in voting bias.
The Sinkies
The Sinkies are a variety show held at the end of the week to celebrate the talents and passions of the citizens at Palmetto Boys State. The 2024 show was themed as “Ken Comes to Boys State”, and accompanied with skits and a show opener.
