The American Legion’s Boys State program offers a distinctive opportunity for young men to understand the American system of government and politics by engaging in a mock governmental system.

Throughout Palmetto Boys State, citizens are separated into two mock government parties: the Nationalists and the Federalists. These parties are meant to simulate the real divide present in politics and its effect in voting bias.
WPBS
The news segment of Palmetto Boys State is constructed to give citizens experience in front of and behind the camera. Production staff help train these young men to write, produce, and edit content throughout the week.
The 10th annual Sinkies
Since 2015 the Sinkies have been a variety show held at the end of the week to celebrate the talents and passions of the citizens at Palmetto Boys State.
As the 10th Sinkies, the show’s theme revolved around celebrating the history and legacy of the show and took inspiration from the recent Saturday Night Live 50th season.
